The Sunshine State

For Spring Break during my freshman year of college, my best friend invited me to come visit her at her grandparents house in Homestead, FL. We went to the Everglades and went on an airboat tour, explored South Beach in Miami, and we down to the Keys. We got a boat pass for the day and went jet skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, parasailing, tubing, snorkeling in the coral reefs off the coast (where we accidentally ran into sharks and had to leave), and explored Key West a bit. We went back to Islamorada on another day and went to a great outdoor restaurant and fed tarpons. I had never heard of a tarpon before, but I faced my fear of holding fish... finally! SO. MUCH. FUN!
